First Take

Lawren and I just got back from town. Because it's Saturday, the "market" downtown is bustling. It's basically a big street fair with hundreds of vendors.

Here are some pictures.

Our house, as shown in the first picture, is situated in the middle of the city. We live right on the corner of a busy "roundabout" or intersection. So it's only a few blocks from downtown. The family has lived in the house for only two years, which was at that time renovated into a home from a livery stable for horses.

This is so great!!! I was so worried that I would be missing you for the next four months but it's like your right next to me. The pictures look great... but I miss you terribly...

As flattering as that picture is, I'm afriad I'll pass. But, it does make me feel like I'm right there with you boys - telling stories over a warm cup of cocoa, staying up late watching reruns of the Golden Girls, going to class the next morning in our pajamas!! I miss you guys.

Out of the 10,000 original windmills in Holland, only 300 are left standing, of which only a few are still functioning. It seems that Calvin's Dutch Festival will need some revision before next year.
